I just got done speaking with MS support who gave me the following
corrective action. Apparently my DLL files were corrupt..

Action:

Tried to do windows update and access hotmail

Result:

was not able to do windows update and access the hotmail

Cause:

DLL files were corrupted

Resolution:

Re-registered the dll files "regsvr32.notlong.com in the address bar

-Extract the files

-open and run the files so that the dll files will be registered
automatically"
