| screen freezes in ie7 My system locks up (freezes) when I access the favorites drop down menu in ie7. It does not happen with firefox. Hitting the alt button fixes the problem. I have a new HP laptop with plenty of memory and the HP support person tells me the problem is with ie7 and said there is a "batch" file that will fix the problem. What/where is that file to download. Thanks |

| Re: screen freezes in ie7 thanks again. I have a pretty clean laptop. SpyBot, Ad-Aware, Windows Defender, AVG Anti-Virus, Zone Alarm firewall, and are run on a daily basis. The only problem I have is with ie7, and since it's a new laptop, I've only loaded a few new programs (and dumped a ton of HP installed junk). The HP tec from across the sea said that Microsoft had a "batch" file that would fix this problem. I've been unable to find/locate that download. Maybe it's just another problem with 1e7 that will get fixed in a future weekly update. Thanks again "Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM" wrote: > Do a thorough malware check. | Re: screen freezes in ie7 I have the exactly same problem. Have brand new (3 days) HP notebook with Vista Enterprise preinstalled and a lot of HP software, Norton Internet Security, Windows Defender. Every time i point to favorite link or link in the current opened web site the screen is freezes....and I receive a message "IE not responding and will close...." The only software I installed on this machine is MS Office 2007 and Windows Live Messenger, no any toolbars or other add-ons in the browser. Any suggestions? Thanks beforehand, "d.o." wrote: > thanks again. I have a pretty clean laptop.
