| Capture usb port I want to capture data from a usb port. What I need guidance on is how can I capture the data . The data is logged and stored on a piece of testing equipment without an interface for pc communications... but... The device will print to a serial cable onto a small dedicated thermal printer. I want to convert the 9 pin serial to usb with a standard connector.. then plug into my usb port... and then capture the printout. In days of old I would have had to open a channel.. or use a copy ser1 to filename.txt command.. Is there a simple way to do this in Win XP?.. or is there a coding in Access that will import from usb? Thank you for any assistance you may be able to give. Thanks, tp |

| Re: Capture usb port Well as far as i understand to get the information from USB cable and for the operating system to understand this information you need proper drivers, and if there aint proper drivers for this device - you will either have to find them or write them yourself(which basically needs the complete understanding of the device and what it does and how it reacts to whatever measurements or events happen). It is very complecated and difficult, but it can be done |
