I've googled it to death in addition to searching here but I'm reading contradictory things. I've also asked some friends running Windows XP Home and they don't agree either.

These are my specs:

Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz
1 GB RAM
180 GB of hard drive space (141 GB free)

This is the software I'm currently runniing:

ZoneAlarm 7.0.462.000

Avast 4.7 Home Edition

SUPERAntispyware Professional Trial Version

Spyware Doctor 5.5.0.204 (though I disabled the antivirus)


I was running Spybot but then I removed it, it really hogged memory. I don't mind upgrading but I use Photoshop and that hogs enough resources so I'd like to strike a good balance; a good program that doesn't burden my resources to the point I can't use a few programs at once. I always use PS.

Some of the programs I'm looking at are:

ZoneAlarm Pro with Antivirus / Internet Security Suite
Spybot again or a more advanced version?

Any recs? And why?
