Question WebCam Problem

Hi people. This is my first time on this forum and I hope you can help me.

Today I tried to use the Webcam of my netbook but I had troubles. When I tried to turn it on it appeared a message saying:

"Creation of the video preview failed. Please check the device connection and make sure that the device is not being used by another application or user"

It's weird because it's a built-in webcam and I opened it when every application was closed so I think that no other device was using the webcam.

I have an Everex Cloudbook CE1201V with Windows XP Home with SP2. I update the driver and it says that I have the latest version. I don't what to do... I'll appreciate any help.

Thanks...

Re: WebCam Problem

Hello,

Microsoft confirmed in 2007 that this is a known bug.

Error Message: Creation of the Video Preview Failed. Please Check the Device Connection and Make Sure That the Device Is Not Being Used by Another Application or User

Did you try to restart your computer and see if this helps.

You might also try the drivers directly from VIA,

VIA Arena - Display Drivers

Let us know.
