PDF error on Groupwise 6

Hi Experts,
I have a weird problem,

I have a client sent me a pdf file (scanned from Xerox machine) to my
groupwise 6, I can't open it.
Error: This file is damaged and could not be repaired.
But if he send me to my hotmail, yahoo or any external email, then I can
open it FINE.

But in my groupwise, I can open any pdf files from anyone (as long as it is
NOT scanned from this Xerox machine).

I noticed that to work around with this client, I have to ask him to scan
the file to pdf and save it the desktop and zipped it.
once he zipped the pdf file and email to me, then i can open my groupwise
and save it to the desktop and unzipped it (then it opens fine).

At this point, I am kind of lost, I am not too sure if it's is a Xerox issue
or Groupwise.
If it's Xerox issue, howcome I could open it with my external email
address??
If it's Groupwise, hoecome I could open any other pdf files??

Anyt thoughts???

Cheers
