Disabled, can't use mouse

My great aunt had a stroke many years ago. Despite several years of speech
classes she is still unable to speak. I set up an old laptop with a program
that will speak anything you can type into it. But you have to use the mouse
to push buttons in the program and she is unable to do this. She has trouble
not pushing buttons on the mouse when using it to move the cursor around.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Disabled, can't use mouse

Will the program work with a joystick and fire button?
