audio driver reinstall question

I blew out my audio drivers and am in the process of reinstalling them.

XP Pro, SB Live! and via chipset.

I had no sound until I uninstalled and reinstalled the SB drivers. However,
I still have the issue with the vinyl AC'97 codec Combo Driver (WDM)
missing/not installed showing (no error, just listed as no driver present).

The sound is fine and my music is back with just the SB drivers installed.
Is there an advantage or reason for me to reinstall the WDM Vinyl Codec for
the via chipset at
this point? Or should I just leave them off and go on with the SB drivers?

Thanks for any thoughts.

nunya
