RAM

I have 512 of RAM installed on my computer, but it only shows 384. Is this a BIOS problem? What should I do?

Thanks.

Re: RAM

That is probably all it was designed to accept. Look on the edge of
the motherboard for identification. Then see if you can find a
motherboard manual online, and look it up. I know my PII ASUS board
will only go to 384. KK

Re: RAM

how new is the computer? a lot of new computers come with what they called shared video RAM meaning there isn't an actual video card, but rather an onboard video card, that uses a portion of your system RAM as video ram. thats probably the case here, to "fix" the problem, buy a video card (doesn't have to be anything high end at all) but having dedicated video will definetly improve system performance 9not to mention give you more RAM to work with.
