help!!!!!!

A friend of mine has gotten a new computer (new for her). The problem
is it will NOT run the version of the SIMS that she has. It has 384
megs of memory, but when you try to set up a family it just freezes.
This game ran fine on her older win 98se machine. The machine she has
now is win XP home. ANY help would be most appreciated.
