Have i Lost My Files??

Hi.

Ive sent my laptop in for repairs. The pin inside where the charger
connects to, has snapped off. Thus i wasnt able to make a backup as the
battery died on me.

Today,Ive just been told that ill need a new motherboard (due to yet
another problem this faulty Advent machine has!)

Will all my files now be gone? According to the techy, he sez its a
"50/50" chance that my file are now gone with the wind. He sez this
becuz he cant get in contact with the engineer working on it !!!

What do u think??? Are my files deleted??

A dead battery or a motherboard replacement should not affect the
files on the hard drive unless you have incompetent people working on
your machine.Techy does not sound like a tech as he would know that
you would have to format the drive or physically damage it to cause
this.
