| Network subnet organization I work for a small but growing company which is currently using a network consisting of only a single subnet (192.168.100.x). I'm getting concerned about the possibility of security problems and want to establish a DMZ for our lower priority (web and web mail primarily) servers. As long as I'm going to bother doing this, I want to separate out the subnets. We're running out of capacity in our existing configuration. Assuming that I don't have any software which uses an IP address to point to one of our servers, what will I need to do to perform this migration? I already have a layer 3 switch and know I need to create the VLANs, but I'm not sure what I need to do configuration wise. Also, I want to set up DHCP in such a fashion that anything coming into the switch on port 1 is assigned to 10.0.1.x, anything on port 2 to 10.0.2.x, etc. I know it can be done, but how? Tim |
