| USB-only problem; no PS2 ports Hello If there is a better group that I could write to in order to get help with this particular problem, please direct me to it. My problem is essentially this: I've come across a computer that has no PS2 ports; it uses USB only. The BIOS doesn't support USB, however; therefore, I can't type when I boot from a DOS bootdisk, or before the OS loads. The hard drive crashed; I replaced it, but now I can't reinstall an OS because my CD isn't bootable (I'm wanting to install Windows 2000 professional), and I can't type when I boot from a bootdisk. Beyond upgrading the BIOS, is there anything that I can do? The type of computer I have is one of those odd Flexatxstc Bro Essentials from Gateway. Is there any chance that I could install an OS on the hard drive on another system, then simply transfer that hard drive to this system? Thanks |

If it's all USB, & the BIOS doesn't support USB directly, then call gateway & yell at them. They should have sent you an updated BIOS. Gateway is crap anyways.
