Compress very old Hard Disk ?

My grandchild has an old IBM Thinkpad with 2 GB of hardspace.
Upgrade of the internal disks are not available beyond 6.3 GB.

What program was that we used eons ago to compress disk space?

If it's got tits, tires, tubes, or transistors, it's trouble.

Re: Compress very old Hard Disk ?

both were disk compression programs (neither very good) but the Microsoft
doublespace was part of Dos and seemed to be more reliable (6.22 I believe)

I wouldn't Compress your hard drive because it really slows the proformence
of the hard drive and it slows down the cpu in the laptop. If that laptop
has any USB or Firewire (1394, IEEE 1394, etc.) then get your grandchild an
external hard drive so he can store his files on it. If not, then I would
use doublespace.
