CDRom unrecognizable

My son's old 486 puter will not recognize the Panasonic SCSI CD Rom. It
shows up in My Computer but that's as far as it will go. It runs 95. Any
ideas? It was a quick fix when I had the puter, but I've long since
forgotten......

Thanks
