Video Card problem??

I wanted to ask anyone who may know. I have an older amd k-6 500 mhz
machine that has an off and on problem of nothing being on the monitor when
you turn computer on. It has the little window bouncing around the screen
saying the monitor is working to check the connections.. I have checked and
all looks good. I can reboot and it works again. It is hit or miss.. Would
this be symptimatic of the video card going bad?
