anti-virus pop up ad from HELL

Every time I start up my computer I get a repeating anti virus pop up ad
from Micro Soft that will not go away.
How do I solve this problem, I have had my computer in for repair *3*
times
but no luck.
The people at Gateway tell me the only way I can solve this problem is to
buy a new computer, as do my internet provider Bresnan.
None of the so called anti popup software programs work on this problem.
Any one out there got any ideas as to how I might solve this problem.
Micro Soft tech support exist in name only.

Re: anti-virus pop up ad from HELL

Maybe you could re-install the operating system if it's that bad? Have you
tried adaware by lava soft? It will check your pc for spyware / adware and
give you the option to delete it. You can find it here
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ it is free for personal use.
Give it a try, and let us know.

Re: anti-virus pop up ad from HELL

In this order:
Clean out your cookies;
Search all Files and Folders - Delete anything relating to this pop-up;
Edit the Registry and search for this pop-up file and delete it;
Get rid of a Gateway Computer;
Get a new Service Provider;
All these last two want is your money;

IF you've called microsoft, and that didn't resolve your issue, I'm not
surprised. Try having your lawyer call them!

Send microsoft a bill for proccessor time.
