I'm using Windows XP Home Edition w/SP2. There is a folder titled
C:\Program Files\MSN Gaming Zone\WINDOWS. The WINDOWS folder contains
various Microsoft MSN internet-based games (Ex. bckgzm.exe). If a file
in this folder is deleted it is immediately replaced by Windows File
Protection. The backup files are contained in C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache.
Before I delete the backup files, can anyone think of a reason these MSN
game files would be protected by WFP? Is it because the folder is named
WINDOWS?

I'm curious. Does anyone here even kow what Windows File Protection is?
It's hard to decide whether there is no interest in my question, or that
there is no understanding of it.

I'm curious. Does anyone here even kow what Windows File Protection is?

Probably because they were registered somehow in the registry and both
ME and XP keep track of what was copied or installed and take pains to
keep them there unless the operating system itself removes it.
