lexplore has caused an error in WINMX.DLL.

When I attempt to access a website, I get an error message that reads:
lexplore has caused an error in WINMX.DLL. lexplore will now close

When I close that message box, another one pops up that reads:
lexplore has caused an error in Kernel32.DLL. lexplore will now close

When I close the second box, one of two things may happen. Either I
get to the website or the second box comes up again and I am unable to
access the website, period.

Besides this, the performance of my computer has degraded considerably.
I have been through it with a virus scan and a scan disk and defrag,
but nothing shows up amiss. Coincidentally, my ISP is admitting
"latency" with incoming and outgoing email, whatever the hell that
means. For the first time, Outlook Express is relatively unaffected by
the current problem, but still, I suspect them.

My service provider has indicated this represents a problem with
Internet Explorer and claims that only Microsoft can help solve it. I
called MS and their customer service representative said I can go to
the Microsoft website and solve the problem or he can help me and will
charge me $35 to do so. I went to their website, and bull****, there
is no apparent fix for this problem visible after an hour-long study of
the site. So, it looks as if I will need to ante up. An interesting
sidelight to this issue is that I just purchased some important
software that only can be downloaded online, and that company is making
me wait an interminable time to get through to someone on the phone.
Microsoft, by the way, now isn't answering at all, even thought they
are supposed to be available for another couple of hours. All I can
say is, god**** the computer industry and all the god**** crooks who
inhabit it.

Anybody out there know how to fix what is causing these error messages?
Please give specific advice, only, not general horse**** that I can
get from the bsers at my ISP tech won't-support or at Microsoft tech
won't-support.

Do you use KaZaA or Morpheus? lexplore.exe is associated with the worm
W32.HLLW.Sodabot and is described on:
