INTERFACE SPEED?

HEY...who's got the answer as to where i find this info for my
pc?...it's in conjuction
with possibly installing an additional HD
i'm told i have a possibility of an interface speed of 'ata/100' or
'ata/133' to match the new HD...paleeze

In that case ANY IDE (ATA) hard drive will work besides they don't make
ATA-66 or lower anymore.

thanks jd...but, i'm curious to know how or why you thought my ata was
66?...as i just received an email from HP saying that also...?...

I was just saying No one makes ATA-66 any more .. if you had given the
make and model of your motherboard it would be a simple matter of looking
it up .. basically if you bought your PC within the last couple of years
then don't worry about it just buy the IDE/ATA drive you require.

They are backward compatible so do not worry (except sata)

Rightly so .. but who the hell wants an ATA-66 not me thats for shure if
your in the market for a new ATA-100/166 buy a "Maxtor 300GB HDD with 16mb
cach" this drive is the same speed as a "Western Digital SATA 36.5GB
10,000 RPM 8mb cach"

thanks guys...been told i can use any of the others....hey jd...not bill
gates here...*hehe...original pc here is 10gig compag...i figure if i
get 60 or 80g i'm way ahead...*L*
