| Video Card Compatibility Issue I recently tried installing a better video card in my computer, but have run into serious problems. To give you a better idea of my situation, allow me to describe my current system specs: MSI 394TPro Motherboard Celeron 1.1Ghz CPU 256Mb RAM Windows 98 SE Current Video Card : Geforce 2 MX440 32Mb (AGP) This card has always worked well, allowing high refresh rates (100Hz) and great game performance. But it's a bit outdated, so I borrowed an ATI Radeon 7000 from a friend to try out. Once installed, the results were poor at best; it wouldn't allow a refresh rate higher than 60Hz, and game performance was TERRIBLE - worse than the old card! I installed all the proper drivers so I don't think that's the problem. I've put the old card back in for now (for my eyes sake!), any ideas on how to get the new one working? Or is it just not compatible with this machine? Thanks for any advice. |
