Unlocking a document

Hi,

While working on a template I was told by my computer that I was doing an
illegal operation. Now my computer says that my info.doc. is locked by me.
It says "read only". It says further, click "notify" to open "read only"
copy of the doc. and receive notifcation when doc. is no longer in use. How
do you unlock a doc. file? Also, since my template has a shortcut icon on
the desktop, it affected my desktop so that I can't open any application via
the desktop. I have to use the start button to do it.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Carlos

go to the folder where the doc file and delete all the .tmp files

there's a file ~blah.tmp that you have to delete. It's prob best to
delete ~*.tmp everywhere. This prob can happen if word was not closed
and the comp was turned off or restarted. like when there's a crash.
