Need to expand SDRAM capabillity in a laptop

Can anyone give me a clue as to if /how I may increase the limit of SDRAM that my Sony VAIO PCG-Z505JE laptop can accept. This is a 500mHz PIII machine and is physically the size I want ... 12" LCD, 3.75 pounds, 0.8" thick. A fix to this problem will save me the cost of a new computer.

The spec says "expandable to 192MB" but that's not nearly enough for Win XP and some applications. I'm not sure what causes this limitation ... BIOS, mother board or what and need some help.

Thanks

Stosh
