Power problems. Egh.

Okay, heres my story:

Got a gateway from a client, they said it was "Dead.". Thats all they
could really say to explain it.

I take it in, put in the power plug, and of course, it wont even begin
to boot. So, I instant suspect the power supply, and I pop off the
system's case to look around.

Heres what I saw:
- The Powersupply was indeed dead. No power from any of the plugs, and
upon further inspection, the fuse was blown.
- The I/O Switch was somehow ruined. One of the two wires had come un
done, pulling the lead with it.

Its as if someone who didnt know what they were doing took off the
case and looked around, got their watch caught on the motherboard to
IO cable, and tugged.

I grab a spare PS of the same rate, and plug it in. I run to
Radioshack and grab a Single Pull Single Throw push switch. I swap the
switches, solder everything correctly.. and plug in the power cable. I
hit the switch. And there it goes!

Fan spins, things start to boot - for about 5 seconds. Then it gives
way and turns off, with a faint "click" noise. Have tried 4 different
power supplys and another SPST switch. Any ideas?

*Sigh* Figured it out, the problem was that my switch wasn't
momentary. It would keep contact, so about 4 seconds after it turned
on, the mobo saw it was still keeping contact, and read that as a
request to shut back down.
