Bios Question

I just built a computer with spare parts I had laying around from about 7
different sources (a real Frankenstein) and everything is fine except for
one thing. Evidently the motherboard was originally from a "Emachine"
computer (I know, they're crap) and when it boots, the "Emachine" banner or
whatever it's called, displays before windows (XP Pro for testing) starts.
My question... is there any way to get rid of this screen? I looked in the
bios setup but found nothing. Thanks for any help or advice. Joe in Texas

Re: Bios Question

... To get rid of the logo that appears, there is always a keypress.
Just keep resetting your computer (before the hard-drive is active!)
and try different keys..

Other keys to try to get into bios : Function Keys (especially F2 /
F11 / F12)
As well as the usual Escape, Space, Del and Insert.

Re: Bios Question

Then of course when all else fails he could try the standard "tab" key.

Re: Bios Question

There are bigger things in life to worry about. If you purchase an ASUS
board the same will happen. Accept it.

there is usually a BIOS option called "Display full screen logo" if not
you can always do it the other way ... you need to get the BIOS flash
program for the motherboard save a copy of the BIOS and the screen logo
will be in binary BIOS image .. you can find programs on the Internet that
will let you display this logo and create and save a new one in its place
but is it worth risking a dead machine ?
