10 Mbps -vs- 100 Mbps DSL

My gf and I live in 2 different areas...I'm in NJ she's Rochester, NY
area. I've had Verizon DSL for over a year and her area just received
DSL a few months ago. Her connecting speed shows 100 Mbps while mine
is showing 10 Mbps but it seems like mine is faster. Is that possible?

You are looking at the speed of your network card and not at the speed
of your DSL connection. :)

You have a 10Mb network card in your machine, she has a 100Mb. Neither
of these cards is likely to be at all taxed by your internet connection
(which is probably less than 6Mb and more like less than 1.5Mb!). So
it's quite possible you have a better connection than here.

You can benchmark them online at places like:

http://www.dslreports.com/stest
