| Windows xp randomly shutting down hi all Im trying to fix a computer for a friend. he was not running an AV program or a firewall or anti-spyware. His PC was in such a bad stae that i formatted and re-installed windows xp. however, the PC now (after about 2 minutes of operation) gives me a box saying that either LSA shell (export version) or RPC service has unexpectedly terminated and it then counts down and reboots. I dont know why it is doing this or what is causing it. if anyone can give me any pointers, i wil be verry gratefull. At the moment this has me stumped and short of pulling the PC apart to testing for faulty hardware i dont know what to do. thanks in advance combrains |

| Re: Windows xp randomly shutting down thanks. I did some reading and found that it was caused by the blaster worm. I managed to keep the thing up (somehow) for long enough to a scan with NAV. I found he had sasser.B and the blaster worm as well as three others. Thanks anyway combrains |
