need help choosing gaming computer

First of all understand that I am a bit of a luddite. My computer
knowledge is rather limited. Be that as it may, I want to get a new
desktop for my son. He will be using it (almost exclusively) for,
heaven help us all, playing an on line game called Everquest. He is
presently using a Presario 700 Laptop. It "died" earlier today. Even
before it died it seemed to leave a lot to be desired regarding
graphics, speed etc. Therefore my questions for you people of
experience and knowledge is this: What am I looking for in a system
for this application? I've been looking on the Dell site at a model
4600. It seems (to me at least) to have all the processor speed
needed, but what do I need to know about video cards etc? Will the
standard cards in these machines provide the requisite graphic
quality? Do I need to upgrade? Any help is greatly appreciated as I'm
pretty much at a loss as to what this kid needs.
Thanks for your help... I'll check back later for any responses.

Sincerely,
Lewis

Re: need help choosing gaming computer

128bit Graphics card,
2 Gig Ram
at the Very least 160 Gig HDD
and 2-3 GHz Processor

I know Dell will Charge you a Fortune for this, and Gateway will build you a
Out of Date machine, as they have done to so many already,
But I do Know a place to get a really good deal on this type machine.
