| Connecting computer to Hi Fi I shall be grateful if any expert can solve my problem with connecting my Gateway running XP with my Hi Fi equipment. I have connected both pieces of equipment using a phono plug and an adaptor to RCA stereo cables, but where ever I plug into the computer by trying various outlets on the sound card, and also the headphone outlet on the supplied speakers, I get an almighty loud humming noise. The station is audible very faintly behind the hum. I should like to be able to listen to various radio stations which I can access online through the stereo's amplifier and loudspeakers. Any assistance or suggestions will be gratefully accepted. Thank you. Geoff L |

Replace the leads and if that doesn’t work plug the hi fi into a different mains outlet (not one shared with the PC). Otherwise, try changing the mains adaptor. If all else fails try a different hi fi! |
