user backup help needed

Hi- first off please note that I'm not real good with computers....

I had a bad computer crash and with my compaq computer (xp couple
years old) i used the cd recovery disk and used the user backup option
that then repartitioned my hard drive and stored my data in the system
save hoping to return to a predisaster normal computer (about 6 gig of
personal data info) But after doing this it promptly refused to
restore my computer (loader file missing?) and i finally decided to
factory restore the computer. this worked but now i have no info from
before and a huge sav(d) drive with unreachable personal data on it
that i need.

Can anyone advise me how to either get this 6 gig of info on the
system save drive to my c drive or delete it as it is using up my hard
drive space.

Thanks for any advice -Jerry
