XP on older computer

I recently installed Windows XP on a slightly older computer and when
I turn the computer off, I get the message "It is now safe to turn off
your computer" and I have to turn it off manually like the Windows 95.
Is there a cure for that? Thanks.

If this is an ATX system, go into the CMOS settings and make sure that ACPI
is enabled. There is no workaround if this is an AT system.
