| How fast of a processor can I upgrade to? Please help!! Hello. I know someone can help me here.... I have a Emachine T1840 with a celeron 1.8 processor. I want to change to a faster processor. I upgraded an older emachine from a 366 to a 533 processor. It was easy, all I had to do is remove the 366 and plug in the 533 processor. I want to install the fastest processor I can in the T1840 without harming anything. Can anyone tell me what the fastest processor will work in my Emachine? Do I have to stay in the celeron family of processors? Do I have to change any settings in the Bios? Can anyone guide me please? The motherboard is a Tri gem International: Imperial GL Specifications of eMachines T1840 Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition Intel® Celeron® Processor 1.80 GHz (w/128KB L2 cache & 400MHz FSB) Intel 845GL Chipset Thanks, Tom |
