Re: Compaq Presario 1200 (12XL400) hard disk problem..

Nisan, Is that a Compaq Presario notebook or desktop? Well you have to know
what is the maximum that the unit can hold as far as a new hard drive is
concern. Proprietary units have a real problem with upgrades that don't come
from the manufacture. The BIOS plays a part in with the upgrades as well.
But it can be done. Once you find out the size of the hard drive that can be
installed then you can go to your local computer store and buy the hard
drive. Prices varies with hard drive space amounts especially if you have a
notebook. Then the hard drive prices are wee bit higher. I like to go to
www.pricewatch.com to check out the cheapest prices for ALL of you computer
parts.
