DVD R and CD RW

can someone enlighten me if a DVD R can also write and re-write CD's. Or does it need too specify
DVDR and CDR?

Re: DVD R and CD RW

Marvin, yes there are DVD-ROM drives that write or re-write to DVD-ROM
disks. The space as you know is about 4.75GB if you get that much storage.
And you can use the DVD writer drive to write to non-DVD disks as well.

Re: DVD R and CD RW

Most dvd writers can read and write cd recordables. You can ck the
manufacturers website for specifications or run a diagnostic utility like
SiSoftSandra or similar, available from cnet.com
Red

p.s. it may not be able to read DVD rewriteable disks though, depends on the
model.
