bad cd/rw

hey all

a friend of mine 'burnt' a cd r/w for me but when we tried to view it after
he burnt it it said that there were no files on it. however, it said the
disk was half full. the disk looks like it has been burnt to so i was
wondering if there was any sofware or anything that i could use to recover
the data that is on the disk. i dont want to have to re-burn the disk coz i
dont get to see him very often.

thanks for any help.

btw: he was using win 98 and a direct drag and drop (i think it was
something similar to roxio direct cd)
