Can anyone recommend any good printers that aren't too expensive.

HP tends to make printers for the higher end markets.

Try Epson or Lexmark if you're on a budget. Their printers are cheaper,
and still of comparible quality. You must remember tho that the cost of
the printer is a fraction of the TCO for a year - ink is by far the
major cost.

As for what is a "good printer", well it basically depends on what you
want to be doing. If you want to be printing photographs get a more
expensive printer. Take a look here for a good printer comparison:

To protect the small enterprise from bigger companies.

What do Software Patents do?
In its current form, they protect only companies with
big legal departments as they:
a.) Patent everything no matter how general
b.) Sue everybody. Even if the patent can be argued
invalid, small companies can ill-afford the
typical $500k cost of a law-suit (not to mention
years of harassment).

Don't let them take away your right to program
whatever you like. Make a stand on Software Patents
before its too late.

Thanks Ben,

I hadn't thought about the cost of ink that is a good point. There is
an Lexmark Printer/Scanner and Photocopier all in one that I have
seen, do these all run off one ink cartiage or did you need one for
each function? Have you ever used one of these?

Do not get a Lexmark unless you like paying out the ass for ink...their
ink is by far the most expensive on the market, and refill cartridges
can mess up your printer. I would go with an HP, as they are pretty
reasonable in the low end printers. Epson has great high end printers,
but are not as good as HP int he low end. REPEAT...DO NOT BUY A
LEXMARK!

Try the Canon i550 or for quality pictures the Canon
i950 [USB only]. The former is USB 1.1 and parallel and most
importantly, it's dead cheap to run.
