WD drives

I heard on our local (Albuquerque) Computer Talk show that Western Digital
hard drives were failing after only six months. Has anyone had any
experiences with failing WD drives?

I had two SATA drives fail within 3 months of operation. That might be
chance tho...

What do Software Patents do?
In its current form, they protect only companies with
big legal departments as they:
a.) Patent everything no matter how general
b.) Sue everybody. Even if the patent can be argued

Re: WD drives

I've been doing data recovery for 15 years.

Reminds me of the old WD31600. (BTW; If anyone has one of these still in
operation, this post will probably induce a head crash.)

There always seems to be plenty of WD drives to work on.

Re: WD drives

I had a 120GB WD Drive that crashed on me after about a week. Returned to WD
and they sent me a new one. That one crashed in 2 weeks. I gave up on them.
I'll never buy a WD drive again.
