| AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2600+ or Celeron 2.7GB processor. I'm a little nervous when they call it 2600,is that a 2.6GB processor or is it different in a subtle way than a Celeron 2.7GB processor(other than the ..1GB)? Which would you go with? The advantage to the AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2600+ is that it doesn't have integrated graphics so I can get an AGP graphics card where as the Celeron has integrated graphics and would then have to get a PCI card. Thanks for any help. |

The AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2600+ dose not have integrated graphics so it has an open AGP slot but the Celeron dose have integrated graphics so the AGP slot is not avalable .My question was is there a big differance between the AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2600+ and the Celeron 2.7GB .I thought that was clear, mabey it wasnt. > Persival wrote: > > > > I'm a little nervous when they call it 2600,is that a 2.6GB processor or is > > it different in a subtle way than a Celeron 2.7GB processor(other than the > > .1GB)? > > Which would you go with? > > The advantage to the AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2600+ is that it doesn't have > > integrated graphics so I can get an AGP graphics card where as the Celeron > > has integrated graphics and would then have to get a PCI card. > > Thanks for any help. |

"The AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2600+ dose not have integrated graphics so it has an open AGP slot but the Celeron dose have integrated graphics so the AGP slot is not available" The above statement is nonsense ..... I thought I made that perfectly clear. If you want a good system go with the Athlon (and the notherboard has integrated graphics, not the CPU), if you want a slow system get the Celeron (no forget it, get the Athlon, and forget you ever heard the name Celeron...trust me). -- Night_Seer |

The 2600+ is a very capable processor, and will run circles around ANY Celeron you thro at it (even those 2.6 and 2.8 MHZ Celerons...I would venture to say EVEN the up and coming 3.0Ghz Celerons.) -- Night_Seer |
