darn pop ups

Is there anything I can do about those darn pop ups. The anti pop up
programs that are for sale are sold by the same people that are introducing
pop ups on our computers.. I have a trial anti-pop up program but it
doesn't allow me to play bridge on Yahoo.. I will truely appreciate a
solution,, thanks

most pop-up blockers will let a pop-up window through (like the
bridge window in yahoo) by holding down the ctrl key.
At work I use the google toolbar which somes with a pop-up blocker,
at home I use Mozilla firebird.

I second the advise to use Google toolbar! Turn on pop up blocker for most
use. Turn it off when you are on a site where you want pop ups (I turn it
off when I surf CNET.com).

Re: darn pop ups

Try Adsubtract, it allows itself to be turned off if it interferes with
another application and it is free.
