Internet links not connecting/loading

Hi,
I hate to ask this, but I'm baffled. All of a sudden, none of my links are
opening through secondary explorer windows. The baby window comes up, but
it just sits there without loading the page, although it looks like it's
waiting (w/hourglass and all). This happens with hyperlinks through emails
and web pages.

I have a P4, IBM clone, IE 6.00. No pop-up blocking sw. No new installs.
This problem is only in my profile. Broadband.

My workaround is to copy shortcut at the link and paste to a new window.
Pop ups are coming up just fine. (lucky me) Does this sound familiar to
anyone? Thanks.

SB

Quit all programs that are running.
Click Start, and then click Run.
Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.
When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click
OK.

Thanks. What does this do? Do I need to restart afterwards? :)

I trust you, so I ran it, but it didn't fix my problem. I restarted
afterwards just to make sure. I've also checked that active scripting is
enabled. Everything looks good. This is strange.
