Audio file editor

I've got some files that I want to burn but they are too big.Is there some
freeware or trial software that I can download that will chop the file into
files that will fit onto a CD?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Audio file editor

Look into Winzip...it is technically trialware, but will work indefinetely,
with no functionality loss. Just has the annoying registration window pop
up and such. Also try easy MD5 creator, as i think it will split files and
bring them back together again.

Re: Audio file editor

Yeah they will work on any files...stuff that's already compressed (like
MP3s or JPGs) will not compress much more with WinZip, but can be split.
Wav's will be fine. Also there are lossless compression formats for wav's.
One is called FLAC. I haven't use it, but it is supposed to compress to
about half the size of WAV, without any loss in quality. WinZip is also
lossless as well, but you must uncompress it to use the file.
