| Howto: Get High Quality Still photo from video? Ok, Here is the deal, My boss wants me to figure out if this is possible: I have a video that we can import into the computer and we can capture the frame we need in a bmp file, but the resolution is only 72dpi...we need the resolution to be about 600dpi to print a photo of the frame. I need to know if there is a piece of software that will save the file in 600dpi instead of 72dpi. I have tried three pieces of software so far, Sony's Giga-Pocket, Pinnacle Studio 8, and Video Wave III...Unless I am doing something wrong I can only get them to do a picture capture at 72dpi. I have also tried opening the file in Photoshop 7 and resizing the image at 600dpi, but the image is not any clearer than it was in the original 72dpi bmp. I am unsure if there is any software out there that does this, but my boss thinks there should be. His reasoning is that he has seen stuff on TV, ie CSI, 24, etc...that will clean up an image and allow for better quality. I explained that if there is not enough data/information in the picture, this is not possible, but he feels that it is. My main question is: How do you get high quality/resolution still photos from an anlog video. Thank you, Shane |

| Re: Howto: Get High Quality Still photo from video? Tell your boss he watches too much TV.... I suppose he thinks there is a guy out there that changes in a phone booth and can fly!!! Seriously though... what kind of video do you have? Is it on tape? My Hauppauge TV card will let me capture stills up to 1600 x 1200 "Shane Metzler" <none@none.com> wrote in message news:3f574f79$1_2@newsfeed.slurp.net... > Ok, > > Here is the deal, > > My boss wants me to figure out if this is possible: > > I have a video that we can import into the computer and we can capture the > frame we need in a bmp file, but the resolution is only 72dpi...we need the > resolution to be about 600dpi to print a photo of the frame. | Re: Howto: Get High Quality Still photo from video? Thats Hollywood magic with multi thousand $ equipment.and lots of video editing..LOL Im not an expert with video, but I know software cant perform miracles. The quality of the original video should be very good to get a satisfactory end result. It wont improve the image quality.. mh "Shane Metzler" <none@none.com> wrote in message news:3f574f79$1_2@newsfeed.slurp.net...
