| Re: ??Processor Upgrade question?? Depends on a few things. First, is it a 2.4a, 2.4b, or 2.4c and is it the other one a 2.6a,b,or co? Depending on which one would make a great deal difference. The "c" series has hyperthreading technology which increases the performance 5%, but only if the motherbaord has the ability to enable hyperthreading. "a" series run at 400Mhz and the "b" series run at 533Mhz. If you have 2.4a and you wanted to go 2.6c thats probably worth it only if you have a motherboard that supports the HT. Enough with the technicalities: If you are buying a computer from Dell, Gateway, etc and are asking that question should you spend 50 more to go with the 2.6 I would go for it, but understand you prolly wont see that much difference between the two. The only way you would is if you got Hyperthreading Enabled (if the Mobo and chip have it), your overclocking the CPU. Hope this helps. Chris P.
