Malicious Scripting???

My brother has AOL and has this weird thing happen in all the "search boxes"
he uses on his computer. It doesn't matter what kind of search it is or on
what site, but garbled words appear in the boxes and scroll thru. There is
no sense to the phrases or what they say just words out of context and
interspersed with dots and dashes....Any idea what this is or what is
causing it? His Norton Anti Virus doesn't pick up anything in his virus
scans....Is this a "Malicious Script"? How can we get rid of it? Thanks for
any help....Silk

Re: Malicious Scripting???

Run an online virus scan, like
http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp or
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/default.asp

Then try a trojan scan like http://www.trojanscan.com/
http://www.diamondcs.com.au/

Make sure Norton is updated.

Also could be a bad install of AOL's browser, if thats what is used. Try
Internet Explorer as an alternate browser and see if the same problem.
