| Re: networking win 95 to win xp..... again It would be helpful to know what you have done so far. It seems you are using ethernet cabling. Try changing cabling. That could help in case one of the wires is not making a full connection. Do you have a cross-over cable? or do you have a router or a hub connecting the computers? Sharing a dialup connection will be very slow... Windows XP uses networking security to allow file sharing. Be certain you have the Win95 machine set up to log on to the client for Microsoft network with a user name and a real password. Use two different user names, one on each machine. The password can be the same. http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/ http://www.wown.com/ http://www.tutorialfind.com/tutorials/networking/ If its posible to upgrade to Win98Se, I would do that as the last step effort. markh_wbpa "combrains" <combrains@myrealbox.com> wrote in message news:1q9Ja.43816$JA5.768745@news.xtra.co.nz... > hi all > > im still trying to get these two computers to talk.
