I don't know anything about the brand, I suppose it is just another "clone" and the brand is the name of the shop who assembled it. You won't be able to play (m)any _modern_ videogames on it, though older ones will probably do fine (mostly in DOS, not in windows - or maybe just a small bunch - and certainly not in XP). XP is far too heavy for this machine, 98 would do much better. The S3 used to be (and still is) a videocontroller of high quality, but only in 2D and resolutions that are not too high. Again, for DOS-games and simple windowsgames, it'll do fine, but not if the game works with DirectX. Connecting to the net will be no problem, but again, XP is not the right choice for this one. Upgrading it will not be worth the money, for most modern components might not work together with Your equipment in a way in which You could take advantage of the qualities of the new stuff, or might even not be available anymore. The only upgrade that might be worth the money, is a new bigger harddrive (though installing it will not always be without problems that probably could be solved), You haven't mentioned the size. If You don't have this computer yet, I wouldn't buy it. The only price that is right for such an old-fashioned machine, is as a gift. You might play some nice DOS-games on it and do a little surfing and emailing, and the machine will be OK for householding purposes (i.e. writing letters or keeping a database). Advanced things will not be possible, and an upgrade won't help You there. Hoping to have been of help to You I remain. Greetings, René |
