| BSOD another question So these are caused by software issues? If I am loading my own OS on this computer, which comes with no OS, I should have no more problems with BSOD than with any other computer? Are these correct assumptions or am I not following what you folks said? I appreciate all the help, I can pick up an extra computer real cheap but all the offered units have had BSOD, probably several times as they are no longer in the state network. THANKS DMSL |

| Re: BSOD another question Almost any glitch can cause a BSOD... I recently "fixed" a problem with my computer. Kept getting BSOD's, CTD's (crash to desktop), freezes, hang-ups, sluggishness, etc etc etc. Even after re-formnatting and logically removing my second drive (which I think messed up and corrupted alot of files (but no virus, ran a virus check and nothing)) I still had problems. I redid the machine again, using my restore disk and now have no problems but I haven't put my old files that I backed up off the failed drive on there yet. So I guess this begs the question, can a file corrupted by a bad drive cause problems even if it's not a virus? |
