msn 6

I recently upgraded my version of messenger 4.7 to 6. version 4.7 came with
xp. when i upgraded to 6 it didnt install over it and 4.7 still logs in
when in connect to the internet. I have unchecked the msn messenger option
in windows components but it didnt uninstall it.

is ther any way to get rid of the version that came with xp or, at lest,
stop it from signing in.

thanks

Re: msn 6

Go to Start, Run and execute the following command:

rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection
%systyemroot%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

This ought to uninstall Windows Messenger that came with XP.

Mind that Messenger 6.0 is still beta, so it might not work well. I'll wait
a little bit longer before installing it.
