| Trying to initilize a USB HD I recently put my external HDD into a new USB encolsure (my last power supply finally blew) Now my computer will not recognize the external driver I've tried going through computer management, but when I try to initialize my disk, in the pop up window to select the disk to initialize I have no options So - per another post I tried the following commands: List disk Select disk 2 List partition Select partition 1 assign exit When I get to the assign command it says: There is no volume specified. please select a volume and try again. When I list partition I get the following: DISKPART> list partition Partition ### Type Size Offset ------------- ---------------- ------- ------- Partition 1 Unknown 153 GB 0 B What else can I try?
