My 40 GB 2.5" hard drive in the enclosure has suddenly stopped working ! It doesn't appear on the "My computer" disk drive and very few times if it appears there then it shows "RAW" and 0 bytes total and used space. It contains some important documents like pictures, music files and tax files. I have tried changing the cable also but it is still the same.

If I start the PC with that HD drive in the USB, I get the error message-blue screen, so I need to remove it and restart the PC. Now how can I recover the data from that hard drive ? It is made by Fijutsu and it is from the Compaq laptop and almost 4 years old. Sometimes the light is red and sometimes it is green. On my devise manager 'SCSI and RAID controller" get the error message that "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device." Where can I get the driver for this ? Is it the reason for the HD failure ?
Please help me to recover the data.
